Hello jimbojonesA,Check out this group policy settings.Local computer policy Computer Configuration Administrative Templates System Logon Always Use custom logon backgroundDesription: Ignores Windows Logon BackgroundThis policy settings may be used to make Windows give perference to a custom logon backgroundIf you enble this policy settings, the logon screen will always attempt to load a custom background instead of the Windows-branded logonIf you disable or do not configure this policy setting, Windows will use the default Windows logon background or custom backgroundThanks, Darrell Gorter This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights

Hi JimbojonesA,When you say Log on background are you referring to msgina ??If so you would need to modify the msgina using some of the custom tools and when you edit the msgina.dll you would actually modify the bitmap in msgina.dll ( for servers it is 101 - 114 ) and then you need to replace the bitmap under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Ginadll ==> set your custom file ( eg newmsgina.dll)

Hi, As far as I know, you can’t change the logo on background on Windows Server 2008 R2. There is a method for Windows 7, you can refer to: Company logo on Login screen? http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/911ac246-3196-41fa-ac7a-0227910985ad Best Regards, Vincent Hu

Hi jimbojonesA, Using the authui.dll file from Vista allows you to modify the logonscreen background of Windows Server 2008. Please check the following method. It works for Windows Server 2008. Custom Logonscreen Background http://www.win2008workstation.com/win2008/custom-logonscreen-background-2 Regards, Bruce

Hello jimbojonesA,Sorry didn't read the post closely enough, this is Windows Server 2008, so it's not supported and there isn't a method inside the OS to set this. There may be some third party solutions.THe group policy settings applies to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 only. Thanks, Darrell Gorter This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights
